Hello and welcome! My name is Pamela Wallenhorst. I will be teaching fifth through eighth grade Language Arts for the 2018-2019 school year. I have loved working with children for as long as I can remember and decided to channel that love into teaching. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (1-8) at The University of Findlay.
I have had experience in classrooms ranging from Preschool through Fifth Grade. My first seven years were spent teaching in the Cleveland Municipal School District, but I have been at St. Thomas More for the past 12 years. At St. Thomas More, I have taught Preschool, First- Third Grade Reading, and Fourth- Fifth Grade Language Arts and Religion.
I have lived in Cleveland for the past 20 years. My husband is a Cleveland firefighter and we have two children, Kelly and Ryan. Kelly is a freshman at Notre Dame College and Ryan is sophomore at St. Ignatius High School.
Many great things have been planned for this year. We will be discovering many new books together, both in class and through the accelerated reading program. We will be using the writing process to develop our writing skills to effectively communicate our ideas.
I am very excited about this school year! It is my hope that through our communications we can work together to help your child succeed. I am looking forward to seeing all of my returning students and meeting all of my new students! It will be a great year!
